Visit the Ta Prohm jungle temple, built by King Jayavarman VII in 1186. You may recognize the temple and the jungle that has engulfed it from the Hollywood movie Tomb Raider.

Day 3: Go to the Phnom Kulen Mountain
Hike in Phnom Kulen National Park, located just 1.5 hours from Siem Reap, this national park is the perfect place to spend a day hiking in the rainforest, with majestic waterfalls, epic viewpoints, and hidden temples in the jungle, an archaeological site in a riverbed with intricate rock carvings representing Hindu gods.
After lunch by the waterfall, continue to Bantaey Srey temple, which once belonged to the medieval capitals of Yasodharapura and Angkor Thom. Day 4: Visit the Temple Complex at Koh Ker
Start out with the 130-kilometre drive through the scenic countryside from Siem Reap to the remote site of the Koh Ker temple group. The temple complex at Koh Kor, located to the northeast of Siem Reap, represents the remnants of the capital of the Khmer empire from 928-944 A.D. It is filled with fully functional leisure time with beautiful tropical landscapes.
Visit Beng Mealea temple next, built at the end of 11th century. This sprawling jungle temple covers an area of more than a square kilometer, and is now largely overrun by vegetation.
Constructed in a distinctly Angkor Wat style by the same king, Beng Melea temple may have served as a prototype for Angkor Wat. Although there are some lintel carvings, there are no bas-reliefs and carvings are relatively scarce.
